Mageeibacillus indolicus (ATCC BAA-2120) Type Strain - Research Culture
Mageeibacillus indolicus type strain for laboratory research. This non-motile, obligately anaerobic bacterium was isolated from the human endometrium and is provided as a reference strain for taxonomic, genomic, and physiological studies. Culture and handle under strict anaerobic conditions and appropriate biosafety procedures.
- Non-motile, obligately anaerobic, indole positive rods.
- Isolated from human endometrial tissue.
- Optimal growth at 37°C; growth range 35-42°C.
- Culture on Brucella agar supplemented with 5% sheep blood under anaerobic incubation for 4-7 days.
- Asaccharolytic and non-cellulolytic metabolic profile.
- GC content 44.2 mol% G+C.
- Colony morphology: 1-2 mm, flat "fried egg" colonies after multi-day incubation.
- Vancomycin sensitive; colistin resistant; no observed resistance to metronidazole, clindamycin, or cefoxitin in tested strains.
